Apple Walnut Pie. This healthy apple pie with crumb topping is really easy to make and super delicious. The best healthy homemade apple pie that will make everybody happy.

Apple Crumble Pie

Apple Crumble Pie has always been one of my favorites. But usually they are not that healthy. So I decided it was time to make a well filled healthy Apple Crumble Pie. Nuts, raisins and of course apples they are all in it. And because this pie is so healthy and nutritious it is also perfect to eat for breakfast. Just warm it in the oven for a bit and you have a very luxurious breakfast. I speak from experience when I say that is the best idea ever.

Recipe Apple Walnut Pie



  • 150 grams (gluten free) oat flour
  • 120 grams almond flour
  • 60 grams peanut butter
  • 90 millilitres honey
  • 30 grams hazel nuts
  • 2 apples
  • 35 grams walnuts
  • 5 grams cinnamon
  • 50 grams raisins
  • 40 millilitres coconut oil

How to make it?

Preheat the oven on 170 degrees Celsius (338 Fahrenheit). Put 100 grams of the oat flour in a mixing bowl or your mixer. Add 80 grams of the almond flour, the peanut butter and 50 millilitres of the honey.

Chop the hazelnuts as small as you like. Mix (or let mix) into a firm and smooth dough.

Grease the quiche mold with some melted coconut oil or butter.

Divide the dough over the bottom of the mold. Make sure it has the same thickness everywhere and upright edges.

As you can see I left some bigger pieces of hazelnut in the bottom of the pie.

Set aside in the fridge to harden a bit more.

While the bottom is in the fridge we will start with the filling of the pie. Peel the apple and cut into small cubes. Place them in a mixing bowl.

Add the walnuts, cinnamon and raisins to it. I didn’t chop the walnuts, but if you prefer to do so that is also possible.

Mix the ingredients properly and the filling of your apple pie is ready. Get the bottom out of the fridge and divide the filling over the bottom.

At last we will be making the crumble of the pie. Mix in the same mixing bowl the rest of the oat flour (50 grams) and almond flour (40 grams) with the rest of the honey (40 millilitres) and the melted coconut oil into a crumbly dough.

Is the crumble too wet? Add some more flour. Is the crumble too dry? Add some more coconut oil.

Crumble the dough at last on top of the apple pie before putting it into the oven for 40 minutes. Pay attention that the baking time may differ per oven.

Let the pie cool down a bit and you can enjoy this healthy Apple Walnut Pie. Delicious with a cup of coffee, but also perfect for breakfast!
