Overnight Oats with apple. A healthy breakfast that you can make the night before. That saves time in the morning.
It is Friday already. I can’t believe how fast this first week of the new year has gone by. My first working week is also almost over, bizarre. But also nice because that means the weekend is almost here and my new job is getting closer already. Very nice that I have every other Friday off at my new job to be able to put more time in my blog.
A resolution is to make a schedule for breakfast and lunch as well. For dinner I used to do this already and this week I did it for lunch and breakfast for the first time as well. This weekend I prepared some things and that is really easy. Than you don’t have to think in the morning what to take for lunch or quickly make something. I love being prepared like that and I will continue doing this. Also really easy for the groceries as well. This Overnight Oats recipe will definitely appear more often in my food schedule. Just like most people I am quite busy in the morning. I want to have breakfast very relaxed, but also need to shower, get dressed and get to work on time. And I don’t want to set my alarm earlier to make a big breakfast. That is why I love these oats so much. At night you put all ingredients in the jar and put it in the fridge. The next morning you only have to get it out of the kitchen and eat it, super easy!

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooling time:          6-8 hours (1 night)

Vegan
This recipe is not 100% organic, because the nuts are not organically available. All other ingredients are organic in this recipe.
Ingredients
  • 35   grams oatmeal*
  • 10   grams flax seed
  • 30   grams macadamia nuts
  • 1/2  apple
  • 7     grams cinnamon
  • 200 milliliters plant based milk

    * By choosing gluten free oatmeal you can make this recipe gluten free

How to make it?

Grab the (jam) jar. All ingredients will go into it and we will mix it. After that the jar will go into the fridge for a night. First put the oatmeal and flax seed in the jar and mix properly.

Chop the nuts and also add to the jar with the oatmeal and flax seed.

Peel the apple and cut into smaller piece. You will need half of an apple. ​You can eat the rest in the meantime. Add the apple to the jar as well and mix again properly.

Next add the cinnamon and mix again. At last add the plant based milk. You can put the jar (with the lid open) in the fridge for the entire night (6-8 hours).

When you wake up the next morning you can enjoy this delicious breakfast. That is a perfect start of your day.
