Cacao Banana Pancakes

Cacao banana pancakes. Yes you are reading this correctly pancakes and cacao, two of my favorites combined in one healthy breakfast.
I love delicious breakfast. I can even look forward to my breakfast when I am laying in bed the night before. It doesn’t even matter if I will be eating a spelt cracker with cheese or a nice extended breakfast. I just love it, lovely with a cup of green tea and I am ready for the day!

During the weekends I usually take more time to have an extended breakfast or try a new recipe. That is also what I did on this Sunday morning. I had made banana pancakes before with egg and I liked them a lot every time. The advantage is that they are super easy to make and really delicious as well.

That is why I thought about making a variation on the basic recipe. It seemed a good idea to mix some cacao through the batter to make some kind of chocolate pancakes. This turned out to be a really good choice. They taste even better than the original ones.

Preparation time: 2 minutes
Baking time:            6-8 minutes per pancake
Amount                      10 pancakes
Special Products:
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Frying Pan (Preferably a big one)
  • Spatula
  • Food Processor (optional)

  • 3 bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • 10 grams cacao
  • 25 grams oatmeal
  • Coconut oil or butter to bake

Optional (decoration):
Cashew butter

How to make it?

Peel the bananas, if you are using a food processor you can put all ingredients in it. If not, mash the banana with a fork and mix the eggs, cacao and oatmeal through it. Make sure it becomes a smooth batter.

Heat some butter or coconut oil in a frying pan. If you use a big one, you can bake 3 pancakes at the same time. Use approximately 2 table spoons of batter per pancake.

Let them bake for 5-7 minutes on one side until it has become a firm pancake.

Carefully flip the pancakes and bake for another 1-2 minutes on the other side. Continue until you are out of batter.

You can decorate them if you like. I used cashew butter and strawberries. Vary with whatever ingredients you like.

You can now enjoy these delicious pancakes, they are very tasty without topping. Super easy and healthy as well.

I like it a lot if you make one of my recipes and I am very curious to see what you made and how you did it. That is why I like it also if you share it on Facebook or Instagram and tag Organic Happiness @organichappinessblog and/or use the hashtag #organichappiness
